Very well, today we will speak about making movie prothesis that have the chance to be glued to the face and become a special makeup fx piece.When I was younger, at 18, I have made already my first attempts with latex.This piece was made with epoxy-clay, a clay that can be hardened and after processing it we can take a mold from it and make a more flexible version on silicon rubber and then glue it to the face.
Let's start making this special fx prothesis.
Once we've fixed the piece, and we feel it firmly placed on the skin surface, we will start applying make up to equalize both sides of the face.
We have to remember that this is a flexible piece so it will have the living appearance.
After adding color, we will dramatize the wounds by applying some blood to emphasize the decaying flesh.
I have the common habit of making my own blood in order to have the consistence I like and need. It is very thick. The commercial fake blood sold on stores is very thin and I personally dislike it.
Very well, at this point I have been adding blood and its viscosity have been producing a slow leakage, very gross, and the fact of the piece for being flexible allows movement and realism.
Because I'm applying myself makeup and not to someone else I can't control certain things that were planned for this prosthetic like taking good care that the mouth zone respond asolutely natural to the actual mouth.
It is more often that I make up for other persons instead of me, but it is a good chance to show my point without an assistant, we can always make a fair zombie, quickly, gross and very easily.
